I collect OLFA razors, they just came out with the LA-X auto-lock a few months ago. It’s everything and so much more than advertised (forever guarantee), lowz was stupid enough to put them on clearance for $5 ( i bought the four they had left). That’s because there are atleast three cheap-ass knock-offs now. You get what you pay for usually, but brand-names and big $ price tags are usually just are plastered on the same sucky shit as the cheap stuff. OLFA is different. They understand value, quality, purpose and good design. Sounds kinda like what art should have, to me anyways. I love collecting things and scavenging. I keep and collect things i consider art, like video games and systems, vintage star wars figures (new ones suck, just like the movies) and my own work (which is crazy, but not many people make things that I want to look at). I have a hard time selling my art, I prefer to trade or even give it away (don’t recommend!, it tends to make people think it has no value!), as money tends to disgust me. I don’t want to sell my art for alot of money (rich people are evil vampires), but it’s hard to sell things you’ve invested time, effort, creativity, yr own $(materials) and magik into for cheapsies. That and you kinda need money to survive in this world, im not social enough for a hippy-dippy commune or want to live alone in the woods, so i dont see any other options. My solution has always been to try harder, work faster, make more art. That way I can keep the good stuff and sell/give away for very little in return. I love giving people art but its hard not to resent people when all they give back is compliments/flattery. I don’t find it that useful or meaningful, and i already know how awesome i am, thank you very much ;) ! I never expect or ask for anything back, just might be nice if not every things value was determined by money. Some people give me help and support in return, and that is worth way more than gold. That earns loyalty and respect, the most important qualities we humans can possess. Love trumps everything but it is neither right or wrong, it either is or isn’t. Love is Power! Today I gave away my last art freebies. No mas, Tomas! The OLFA will have to be pried from my cold dead fingers, it has a forever not just life-time guarantee after all. I’m an artist, worked in shipping, paint houses, do handyman stuff and actually use these fairly often. I’m tired of everyone considering me weird or even sick (Fatherfucker I’m ill, not sick!). I’ve devoted my life to art and anarchy (not the highschool/college kind/phase, more like something with compassion and zero tolerance for systems that encourage/tolerate de-humanization, murder for profit and degradation of soul) and what is wrong with that exactly? I know I am too aggressive and negative at times, but I’m working on it and this world is full of bullshit that’s killing people and itself, and we all know it. Love of money/power is the root of evil. Razors can be used to create or destroy. Illusions can be cut through quite quickly with the right tool, so walk on the razors edge if you dare…. Just make sure it says OLFA or you’ll get dull pretty quickly.
